Graded Category

ELIGIBILITY

1. For Graded Category – based on contestant’s piano examination grade.

​

2. Contestants can select 1 piece within the Exam Grade for submission.

​

3. Repertoire can be selected from ABRSM, Trinity or LCM.

​

4. There is no restriction to the number of categories contestants can apply, as long as the age and repertoire regulations are adhered to. For example, a 13 year-old contestant can apply to Age Category Junior C, Graded Category Gr8 , as well as Professional Category B for ages 13-16.

5. The execution of repeats is at the discretion of the participant; however, all da capo and dal segno instructions within the score must be observed.

 

6. Memorisation: All pieces must be played from memory.

 

7. The selected piece must be performed in its entirety, with no omissions of any parts. Any performance that is not presented in its complete form shall result in disqualification, notwithstanding the quality of the performance.
