Professional Category

ELIGIBILITY

1. For Professional Category - contestants should apply based on their age as of 31 Dec 2025.

​

2. For example, if you are born on 3 April 2012, then you should be applying for Professional Category: Professional Category B for Ages between 13-16.

​

3. For Professional category, 2 or more contrasting pieces are required from different musical genres all across Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionist, Modern and Jazz.

4. There is no restriction to the number of categories contestants can apply, as long as the age and repertoire regulations are adhered to. For example, a 13 year-old contestant can apply to Age Category Junior C, Graded Category Gr8 , as well as Professional Category B for ages 13-16.

5. The execution of repeats is at the discretion of the participant; however, all da capo and dal segno instructions within the score must be observed.

6. Memorisation: All pieces must be played from memory.

​

7. The selected piece must be performed in its entirety, with no omissions of any parts. Any performance that is not presented in its complete form shall result in disqualification, notwithstanding the quality of the performance.

8. Video recordings must be no older than 12 months.

​

9. All selected pieces must be recorded in one continuous, unedited take.
